Services are available to all members and non-members (see 'Membership'). Having budgeted to provide scholarships as needed, Arthritis Services welcomes everyone.

Personal Arthritis Consultation:

(one-on-one, in person, by phone, or e-mail)
RNs with more than 20 years of rheumatology and orthopedic experience offer suggestions, counsel, referrals, information, and encouragement. They're available to hear your personal story and empower you to enhance your quality of life. Call anytime during office hours. Ask your questions at aps_clt@bellsouth.net. An arthritis nurse will respond as soon as possible.

Arthritis Support Groups:

Meet monthly at different sites to offer support and education for people with arthritis. Groups meet at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, The Gables at Druid Hills and Booth Gardens Apartments. Call for meeting times or for more information.

FM Support Group:

Meets monthly at Arthritis Services office to offer support and education for people living with fibromyalgia. Call to register.

Educational Workshops:

Members are notified of upcoming educational special events.

Financial Aid:

Provides financial assistance to those who need it to obtain arthritis related education, medications, self-help articles, and assistive devices. I.e. splints to support fragile joints, properly fitting shoes, canes, walkers, etc. Call for more information.

Adaptive Arthritis Exercise:

Targets senior citizens and is designed to maintain range of motion and strength. Meets weekly at a variety of times and settings. Call to register.

Osteoporosis Screening/Education:

A portable ultrasound device provides quick and painless measurement of bone density. Because the results are immediate, RNs offer on-the-spot interpretation, education, consultation, and referral. Call to schedule an appointment for this free screening opportunity.

Community Outreach:

Arthritis Services provides arthritis education and osteoporosis screening to the community by providing classes/programs for local groups. i.e. churches, neighborhoods, businesses, social clubs, etc. Call the office to arrange a program for your group, free of charge. (Donations accepted.)
